I find it really …
I find it really scary when i see a cat cross a road really slowly.A year ago i was walking with a friend and we saw this cat who began to follow us across the road with but when it got to the middle this big grey bundle of fur decided to start rolling its self on the road while a car was approaching at high speed though fortunatly even though we coaxed it back to the pavement. I have seen so many cats walk really slowly crossing a road. So many drivers just dont care until its too late.

This is great, I …
This is great, I have a garden and would love to let my cat roam free, but apart from the the big hungry foxs that have been responsible for nearly killing all the cats on my road except for one which is a house cat, then you have the neighbours out of control dogs that will go for a cat or small animal in a heartbeat. also i live on the end of a busy road so i dont fancy havin my cat run down like the cat that got hit by a van just recently.

Lol, sleepy cat, some are active, but I guess this adult one can’t be bothered

Yeah but still, …
Yeah but still, cats don’t instinctually walk like dogs do. The cat in the video clearly doesn’t want to walk. A dog would be all over the leash and trying to get out the door. Dogs love walks. Cats like to sit on the porch in the sun, maybe try to catch a bird, then come inside.

Maybe, but cats …
Maybe, but cats don’t really live for that long, which means they can get old really quickly, at about 13 or 14 they die, that’s why kittens are more playful, I’ve actually seen cats walk like dogs on a leask/jacket thing ^_^

looks cool, wish my cat would do that.
But i don’t wanna teach him, he don’t wanna learn.

I don’t think that …
I don’t think that cats have the instinct to walk the way that dogs do. I wouldn’t try it because it just seems so forced and unnatural.

Wow, this looks much simpler than I thought…I’m gonna try this with my cat.

You’ve got the …
You’ve got the right idea- let the cat ociate the leash with pleasure and they’ll be more responsive to it. I like the idea of letting them use it as a toy in the beginning. Let the free in the house, but outside it’s never safe to let them free. Too many friends have lost animals to cars.

Both my cats walk …
Both my cats walk on a leash. I wouldn’t consider EVER letting them roam around loose. It’s out of the question: they would get run over, attacked by dogs, get fleas or go through poison ivy. It’s so not worth the worry.
She’s right, easier to teach as kittens, but w/patience older cats can be taught too.
And for anyone who badmouths this: You don’t love me, pay my bills or live with me so tough! My cats are happy, smart — and ALIVE!

I’m planning on …
I’m planning on walking my kitten on a leash. The thing with training cats is not to punish them, if you really have to don’t let them see you. I’m like a cat, I grow resentment towards people who punish me for their wants.

i walk my cat cuz …
i walk my cat cuz we live near a busy st and since i got her as a kitten she hasn’t learnt about cars and i’m sure she’ll get run over (its not innate that cats know how to cross the rd or avoid cars). i’ve trained her since she was a kitten and i’m sure my neighbours think i’m bonkers but i’d rather have a live cat then a dead one

LOL This would go …
LOL This would go down well as a surreal comedy clip. Why would you want to put a cat on a ‘leash’? Half the fun of a cat is that it only goes where it chooses. (and not because it thinks it’s getting a treat. Leave that for dogs)
