walking just takes longer too burn off the calories?

How much you burn mainly depends on your weight:

For a 128 lbs person —
running 10 min to make a mile burns—-94 cal
walking 20 min to make a mile burns—-44 cal

So running a mile definitely burns more.

What burns more calories, walking across the room on your hands or on your feet?

I think it's the same, since you are moving the same weight the same distance. Just because an exercise is more strenuous doesn't mean that it burns more calories.

If you wiggle your finger vigorous for 5 minutes it can get fatigued and cramped, but that doesn't mean that you burned a lot of calories.

What do you think?

Its true that its the same weight and distance so in that sense its the same work. However, the EFFICIENCY of doing that work is far less when walking on your hands…we are made to walk on our feet not our hands. As a result of lower efficiency we do more work walking on our hands with the energy (calories burned) dissipated as heat.

What burns more calories per minute: Walking or stationary-bicycling?

Hello all: I would like to know what burns more calories per minute: Walking for exercise like at a moderate to fast pace or stationary-bicylce at a moderate to vigorous resistance. I would like to add that calorie-charts state that bikeriding, wether regular bicycling or stationary-bicycling burns more calories per minute than walking. I would like your comments on what burns more calories: walking or stationary-bikes?

Get on the bike and perform intervals.

For instance after you have spent a few minute warming up start to alternate between fast and slow intervals for the next 10-15 mins.

It may be 1 min fast followed by 2 mins slow, or a 30second flat out sprint followed by a minute slow, play with it a little.

Take your time to cool down before getting of the bike.

This may not burn as many calories than an extended cycle, or maybe even a walk, but it does have a massive impact on the bodies metabolism and therefore your waistline.

Give it a go.
